Had a boring day, so I'm posting a picture of my adorable niece who turned 1 today. Soooo cute!!! She looks like a little monkey in this photo :)

My friends at work bought me these teas from NM Tea Company and gave them to me today, along with a card promising they'll think of me as my mom undergoes surgery on Thursday.

Ladies who lunch

Yesterday I officially joined Big Canyon as a Junior Member; I had my welcome orientation at the club and got my member number... to be used exclusively for chicken fingers and french fries.  Haha right Megs?
In the country club spirit, I'm thinking about taking some golf lessons, hopefully with a friend.  (Jacqueline - would you be interested?)  I feel pretty good about getting in now because there is a really long Wait List to join, it's about 2 years now.

Last night I had a group project where we perform practice therapy sessions (they VIDEOTAPE the whole thing!!) and then get critiqued by our peers and teacher - it's pretty intense / nerve wracking because you know you're being watched / judged, but overall a really positive experience because I feel like I'm learning sooo much.  Next time I'll take a picture to show you guys myself in pseudo-therapist mode.

Finally, my bday present!

Got this Stella and Dot charm necklace for my birthday. Had to exchange a piece of it and it took forever to come in. 2 months later and I can wear it now! Woohoo

Magical Mondays

Went to my third jewelry making class today. Spent my time acid etching copper then drilling and sawing it to make pendents and carving wax into rings. It was magical. Something else that was magical? The glamour shot I had to take today for my student id. Seriously, I don't know why Elite Models hasn't signed me yet.

Eating our way through LA

Saturday night - out to dinner at "Monsoon" in Santa Monica with Sarah, Luigi, Rachel, and Max.  It's secretly Sarah and my shared dream to create our own little consistent "group" a la Friends and How I Met Your Mother.... I'll let you guys know how this dorky goal progresses haha

We all agreed how legit this particular bowling alley's arcade was - it had every kind of game those little spazzes could want.  Max was the most enthusiastic participant in the pictures last night; the air hockey posing was his idea in fact.

When we got rejected from playing at the bowling alley because they were closing, we ventured back to our apartment to smoke / watch a movie.  We played Apples to Apples and watched Pulp Fiction.

Loving Long Beach

Its in the high 70's/low 80's today, so we took a bike ride with the new beach cruisers. Our place is just a block from the beach and this awesome boardwalk. It takes us about 25 min to get to downtown (where we used to live). We ate lunch at Yard House on the patio. Beautiful day!!!

The highlight of this cold Saturday for me was finally tracking down the long-lost Christmas package from Danny's folks. It got lost in the mail on the way to New York, then sent back to Milwaukee, then to Beijing, held hostage in customs for about two weeks. And FINALLY on this day unlike other days, Danny and I braved a creepy cab driver (who jokingly threatened he should hit me three times because I didn't tell him where to turn and actually reached around to do so), and picked up the infamous box at the FedEx office.

Needless to say, the box had been slashed open and all the nicely wrapped Christmas presents were likewise inspected. Merry late Christmas to me! God bless us. Every one.

KFC PDJ

Sarah's boyfriend Luigi came into town tonight from AZ, and he really wanted some fried chicken.

So they picked up some KFC for the three of us.  We literally have a bucket of chicken on the table.

This is my view from where I'm sitting.... if you can see the TV in the background, we are watching  Friends tonight (and every night).  Mail for Miss Chanandler Bong!  Very low key night :)

My life the last 2 months

Ok, I really wanted to post- so I am going with boring for my first photo and posting about work.

This image represents the last 2+ months of my life (literally have not worked on anything else). I have put in a ridiculous amount of hours on this project - I redesigned a whole new printed Hoag Health (community newsletter), launched a fully interactive microsite web/online experience (pictured at left) and created a matching fully interactive enewsletter. Been SUPER busy and stressed, but got an email directly from the CEO yesterday saying he loves the new pieces. Not bad. :)

Rachel's run is bigger... than Rachel's

So after I saw your "run" post, my roommate's friends from high school came over. And one girl, Rachel, had a huge run in her tights all the way down her leg. Hence, Rachel's run is bigger... than Rachel's.

Los Angelino Rachel is sitting next to me on the couch. We went out to dinner at Literati Bar and Grill down the street, delicious truffle fries!

It's a Pizza Pie

 

Today we made pizzas with the Daisy troop at CPK. B chose mushroom and pineapple and said it was the best pizza she had ever eaten because she made it.

I snagged my tights with my heel 5 minutes after I got to work yesterday. how is that for mundane, jacq?

Jacq's First Post

Here's my first addition. Bella dealing with a stuffed up/runny nose and me enjoying the trials and tribulations of parenthood. I'm interested to see if everyone's life is as mundane as mine, and I'm really hoping that no one else discovers this blog because that would be so embarrassing.

Water water everywhere....

This is a pic of me and my roommate Sarah on January 25th when the water delivery man came to set up our Sparkletts dispenser. I asked him to take a picture and he loved it - my roommate, however, did not. Sarah hates being in pictures, so she is not very enthused about our new project haha.
