Fresh Idea Fridays

My friend Trinie and I started organizing a Friday salon/happy hour thing where folks can give talks on their research, workshop proposals or discuss current events related to China. Last week my friend Anne who is doing her phd at U Chicago gave a talk on Chinese opera during the 40s and 50s. Next Friday Danny is going to give a little talk on his time at OWS.

Hairy Situation

So I got my hair fixed by my stylist and this time it actually came out how I wanted. Yay!

Lissa and I took a photo with Happy, the therapy dog, while we were hanging in the surgery waiting room. This pic is for you, Laur, because I know you're into that kind of pervy stuff.

Meanwhile- my mom is out of surgery and doing well. So glad this is over!

I spent tonight making a birthday card for a little girl my roommate babysits for (I've babysat w her). Found some oil pastels and went to town. Rainbow and sunshine haha

Belated bday gift for Aisling

I had this little cotton dress made for her - the back says "Duffy girls rock!" it turned out so freakin cute! I hope she wears it for st patty's day! Katie requested one in her size :)

Reminded me of the good old days. Expensive here though! Back in the day, you could get a handle for only $20 (said using old man voice).
